What is your company's data worth to AI developers?

The honest answer is "it depends", but buyers now publish enough to show the range and what moves it. These are advertised figures from each buyer's own pages, not offers.

What buyers advertise

  • micro1: "$200k–2M+", with payments "typically ranging from $150K to over $2M".
  • Handshake AI: partnerships typically range from $100k to $4m, depending on the data.
  • Labelbox Prism: targeted datasets from about $50k; large partnerships $1m+.
  • Scale AI: $10k–$1m+ as an illustrative value per partnership.
  • Turing: a single payment of up to $1m.
  • Troveo: "six figures" for company data exports.
  • Mercor: no overall range; its sector listings show company payouts from about $20k to $1.1m.

For scale, one widely reported deal: Google's $10 million for Spirit Airlines' records, as reported by MIT Technology Review.

What raises the value

  • Years of history: Turing says a long, well-preserved record is worth more than a short one.
  • Several teams and systems: AfterQuery looks for companies working across several systems.
  • More tools connected: Mercor says the more tools you share, the higher the payout.
  • Data type and scale: Prism names these among the factors that set compensation.
  • Exclusivity: Prism says exclusivity requirements are reflected in the price the buyer pays.

What lowers it

  • Unclear rights or restrictive customer contracts.
  • Thin history in a single tool.
  • Records dominated by sensitive data that has to be excluded.

Getting a figure for your company

Our free estimate asks nine questions about your company, systems and years of records and gives an indicative range. It's an estimate, not an offer: a real figure only comes from buyers' offers once they've seen an unnamed profile.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum company size?

Several programmes ask for 20 to 30 or more staff and a few years of history, but others publish no minimum or accept closed companies. History and the variety of systems matter as much as headcount.

Why do the ranges vary so much?

Value depends on what's in the records, how many years and systems they cover, how much has to be excluded, and the licence terms, especially exclusivity.

Does an exclusive licence pay more?

Buyers say exclusivity is reflected in the price, but it also stops you licensing the same records to anyone else. Weigh the premium against the buyers you'd shut out.

How do I find out what my company's data is worth?

Start with a free estimate, then compare real offers. Advertised ranges show what's possible; offers show what your records are actually worth.
